Taxi Driver 3's Press Conference, The Final Chapter Arrives

On November 18, the SBS building in Mokdong, Seoul, was abuzz with anticipation for the "Taxi Driver 3" press conference. The event saw the attendance of the show's beloved core ensemble: Lee Je Hoon (Kim Dogi), Kim Eui Sung (CEO Jang Sung Cheol), Pyo Ye Jin (Ahn Go Eun), Jang Hyuk Jin, and Bae Yu Ram, alongside the series director, Kang Bo Seung.

As the final chapter in the "Taxi Driver" trilogy, the stakes for the team at Rainbow Taxi have never been higher. Lee Je Hoon, who has become synonymous with the role of the revenge-plottin g driver Kim Dogi, shared the depth of his commitment to the character.

“I spent a lot of time thinking about how to present different sub-personas from previous seasons,” he revealed.

“From the start, I wanted to show a strong presence. In episodes 1 and 2, you’ll see the adventurous side of Do-gi, while episodes 3 and 4 reveal a more vulnerable side," Lee Je Hoon teased.

He also teased upgraded, high-octane action, noting, “The taxi’s performance has improved. We chase villains at full throttle.”

Pyo Ye Jin, who plays the genius hacker Ahn Go Eun, showcased her character's growth with a new bob haircut.

“I wanted to express Go Eun’s growth. I made some external changes to emphasize how much more professional she is now,” she explained.

Meanwhile, Kim Eui Sung, whose character has kept viewers guessing about his true allegiances since season one, playfully stoked the flames of suspicion.

“It’s unfair that I’ve only shown a warm side in the story so far. If you keep watching with suspicion, won’t something happen?” he said.

The cast's off-screen chemistry was palpable, with Lee Je Hoon expressing his hopes for the season.

“I hope viewers can feel how much passion and love I’ve poured into this work," said Lee Je Hoon.

What Sets Season 3 Apart, Deeper Shadows and Fundamental Fights

So, what can fans expect from this new, and potentially final, journey? According to the creators, "Taxi Driver 3" is delving into even darker corners of society with a more fundamental and systematic approach to justice. Director Kang Bo-seung offered a powerful metaphor for the season's narrative.

“We’ve installed a new whack-a-mole game machine in the Rainbow Transport office,” he began.

“In this game, no matter what you hit the mole with, it just keeps coming back up. Ultimately, you have to adjust the game console to stop it. Similarly, this season focuses on more fundamental stories rather than just immediate, current events," he concluded.

This suggests that Rainbow Taxi will be targeting the root causes of evil, not just its surface-level symptoms.

The emotional journey for viewers is also set to be a rollercoaster. Lee Je Hoon perfectly captured the weekly viewing experience.

“The drama airs on Fridays and Saturdays. On Fridays, you might be angry and say, 'How in the world can this happen?' But you’ll all feel better on Saturday,” Lee Je Hoon revealed.

He also hinted at a deeper exploration of Do-gi's personal struggles, pointing out, “In fact, Do-gi is hiding his pain. He even finds healing from the exhaustion and hardships he experienced while working.” While billed as the "final chapter," Director Kang left the door slightly ajar for the future, stating, “It could mean that the final chapter marks the end of the trilogy, or it could mean that we're approaching it with the intensity of it being the final season. If you watch it, there will come a point where the number ‘3’ disappears. I hope you focus on the essence of the story rather than the season number.”

The series continues to follow the Rainbow Taxi Company as they take on daring revenge missions for victims who have fallen through the cracks of the justice system. "Taxi Driver 3" premieres on November 21 at 9:50 PM KST on SBS, ready to deliver its unique brand of cathartic justice.

The director’s whack-a-mole metaphor is so intelligent. It sounds like this season will have a much deeper, more systemic critique. The emotional storytelling will be powerful.

A taxi driver delivering justice? Now that’s a premise you don’t see every day. Only in K-dramas! Brilliantly out of the box. Cheers to that!

Be honest… who here is already planning snacks and tissues for the premiere night? :sob::popcorn:

A deeper critique? Maybe. But these metaphors are just fancy words until we see the actual plot. I’ll believe it when Dispatch confirms it’s not just hype.

The car chases in this series are always insane! Hope the action is even bigger this season. Time to binge the first two seasons again to prepare🔥

Snacks are ready! But I’ll probably be too hyped from the action scenes to cry. Let’s go Rainbow Taxi! :fire::taxi:

I’m already preparing myself for that Friday anger and Saturday healing. This show truly understands how to play with emotions while still giving justice :collision::weary_face:
