Teaser of 'Surely Tomorrrow', A Glimpse into a Love That Lingers

JTBC has officially released teasers for "Surely Tomorrow," and they are packed with emotional nuance. The previews expertly weave together two timelines which is the sweet, blissful moments of young love and the tumultuous, painful encounters of their present-day reunion.

The teaser shows Lee Gyeong Do (Park Seo Joon) and Seo Ji Woo (Won Ji An) in their happier days, laughing and deeply in love. This starkly contrasts with the palpable tension of their current situation, where years of heartbreak hang heavily between them.

The chemistry between the two leads is immediately evident, not just in their joyful scenes but, more powerfully, in the silent, loaded glances they exchange as adults. Park Seo Joon’s character is portrayed as someone trying to harden his heart, seen in moments of stoic resolve, while Won Ji An’s Seo Ji Woo radiates a complex mix of regret and longing.

The atmosphere is a poignant blend of melancholy and a faint, lingering spark of what once was. Key lines of dialogue amplify the drama’s core conflict. Lee Gyeong Do confesses, “I didn’t have it in him to meet her sober,” highlighting how overwhelming his emotions for her remain.

Even more telling is Seo Ji Woo’s heartbreaking admission, “I really really love him, but I can’t stay by his side.”

This is met with Gyeong Do’s raw, accusatory words, “If you were going to go like that, then you shouldn’t have come,” leaving viewers desperate to unravel the reasons these two souls, who so clearly love each other, are forced to stay apart.

Synopsis of 'Surely Tomorrow', A Story of Second Chances and Scandal

“Surely Tomorrow” delves into the intricate story of former lovers Lee Gyeong Do and Seo Ji Woo. Their romance is a story of multiple chapters: they first fell in love at 20, rekindled their relationship at 28, only to break up once more. Years later, fate throws them together in the most complicated way possible.

Park Seo Joon’s character, Lee Gyeong Do, is now a sharp and capable entertainment journalist and a deputy manager at Dongwoon Daily. His life takes a dramatic turn when he is assigned to cover a high-profile affair scandal involving a chaebol family’s son-in-law. The twist? The wife at the center of this scandal is none other than his ex-lover, Seo Ji Woo.

Won Ji An plays Seo Ji Woo, the second daughter of the prestigious fashion brand Jarim Apparel. She finds her life in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons due to her husband's infidelity. The scandal, however, becomes her path to freedom, allowing her to finally divorce her arrogant husband. This professional and personal collision forces her to confront her deepest past which is Lee Gyeong Do, the man who was once her everything.

The drama is bolstered by an incredible supporting cast who play the couple's college friends from their theater club days: Lee El as Ji Woo’s calm and caring older sister and CEO Seo Ji Yeon, Lee Joo Young as Park Se Young, Kang Ki Doong as Cha Woo Sik, and Jo Min Guk as Lee Jung Min.

With a script penned by the renowned writer Yoo Young Ah ("Encounter," "Thirty-Nine") and directed by Im Hyun Wook ("King the Land"), korean drama "Surely Tomorrow" promises a deeply meaningful and well-crafted exploration of love, timing, and the scars that never truly fade. Mark your calendars for its premiere this December.

The ‘lingering scar’ description is so accurate for exes. I bet there’s more to their breakup story than what the teaser shows. Dispatch, find us the real tea! :hot_beverage: ㅋㅋㅋㅋ
