HyunA's Highly-Anticipated Performance at Waterbomb Macau

The Waterbomb Macau 2025 festival was set for November 9, and the announcement of HyunA's participation had sent waves of excitement through her global fanbase.

Just a few days prior, on November 4, the artist herself amplified the anticipation by sharing a promotional video on her personal social media. In the clip, her enthusiasm was palpable as she directly addressed her fans.

“I’ll have the chance to meet you all at 'Waterbomb Macau' on November 9. I’m working hard to prepare from Korea, so I hope many of you will come. Let’s meet on November 9!” said HyunA.

This was supposed to be a triumphant return to the stage. When the day arrived, HyunA took the stage with her characteristic powerful energy, launching into her classic, high-tempo hit "Bubble Pop!" The crowd was electrified, but the joy was tragically short-lived.

In a moment that stunned the audience and her team alike, HyunA suddenly collapsed on stage, falling unconscious mid-performance. The immediate reaction from her backup dancers, who rushed to her side with visible alarm, and the swift intervention of a security guard who carried her off the stage, was captured in viral videos that showed a completely limp HyunA, marking a frightening end to what was meant to be a celebration.

A Public Apology and Fan Concerns Over Health

The incident instantly ignited a firestorm of worry online, with netizens and fans flooding social media platforms with messages of support and concern.

"Saw hyuna passed out in Macau on threads while performing bubble pop. I know she's kinda controversial, but i really hope she's okay."

"I just saw the clip HyunA fainting on stage and I'm shocked. Hope she's okay"

Understanding the disappointment and fear she caused, HyunA soon took to Instagram to post a heartfelt and emotional apology. Accompanying a dark, blank image was a lengthy caption where she expressed her deep regret.

“I’m really, really sorry.. It was such a short time since the last concert, and I wanted to show you a better side of myself, but I feel like I wasn’t professional enough. To be honest, I don’t even remember anything myself," HyunA wrote.

Her apology was profoundly considerate, as she specifically highlighted the effort fans made to see her.

"Many fans from Macau came, and of course, our A-ings too, everyone paid money to come see the performance, and I’m sorry, truly, deeply sorry," she continued.

This health scare is especially concerning given what the public now knows about her recent rigorous weight loss journey. It was recently revealed that HyunA has shed an impressive 10 kilograms in a relatively short time, bringing her weight down to 49 kg.

However, even after reaching this milestone, she had hinted that her journey was not over, posting a scale photo with the caption, “It was really tough to change the first digit from the 50s… Still a long way to go.”

This context adds a sobering layer to the incident, suggesting that her intense dedication to physical transformation may have come at a cost. In her apology, she vowed to focus on her well-being.

“From now on, I’ll work on building up my stamina and keep doing my best consistently," she continue.

“And I’m really okay! Don’t worry about me!” HyunA ended her message by reassuring everyone.

Then, HyunA and thanking fans for “cherishing, loving, and admiring someone as imperfect as me.”

The entire episode has sparked a crucial conversation about artist health and wellness, with the collective hope from fans worldwide being that HyunA prioritizes her long-term health above all else.

This just breaks my heart. As a mom, I just want to tell her to rest and not apologize. Your health is so much more important than one performance, sweetie

She didn’t owe anyone an apology. She fainted because she pushed herself too hard, that’s not unprofessional, that’s human.
