Park Eun Bin, Rei, and Wonhee spoke up for breast cancer awareness.
They reminded audiences of the campaign’s true purpose.
Their voices brought meaning back to “Love Your W.”

The 20th annual “Love Your W” event hosted by fashion magazine W Korea on October 15 was originally intended to raise awareness about breast cancer and the importance of early detection. However, this year’s event drew attention for shifting toward glamour and party vibes, overshadowing its health-focused mission. Amid the debate over the campaign’s direction, several stars stood out for staying true to its original purpose and using their platforms to speak about what really matters.

Names like actress Park Eun Bin, Rei of IVE, and Wonhee of ILLIT became the highlight of public discussion as they reminded everyone why the event exists in the first place. Through small but meaningful actions, these three showed how celebrities can do more than just show up on the red carpet, they can help deliver vital messages about health, awareness, and empathy.

Park Eun Bin’s Subtle Yet Powerful Reminder of the Event’s Purpose

Actress Park Eun Bin drew major attention after choosing to leave the event early and going live on social media to talk directly about its original goal. Speaking from her car after the event, she greeted fans with a message that seemed simple on the surface but carried deeper meaning. “I just wrapped up the W event and I’m rushing home. It’s been a while since I last attended something like this, it almost feels like the first time,” she said with a smile.

She went on to describe the event as having a “good atmosphere” and said she was just “taking a quick look before heading home.” While she avoided direct criticism, many netizens interpreted her words as a subtle acknowledgment that the party-like mood was not entirely what she had expected. Most notably, Eun Bin concluded her live by mentioning that the event was a “breast cancer awareness campaign,” a detail that ironically many other attendees failed to mention.

“The repeated phrase ‘good view’ seems to hold a lot of meaning,” one netizen wrote.

“She clearly knows the original purpose of the event,” another commented.

Fans also clarified that Eun Bin never explicitly stated why she left the event early, nor did she make any negative remarks as some speculated. They urged the public not to twist her words, framing her actions instead as a thoughtful and relevant reminder of the campaign’s purpose. Through her calm and graceful approach, Eun Bin successfully redirected attention back to what mattered most: raising awareness of breast cancer and the importance of early detection.

Rei and Wonhee: The Young Generation Using Their Voices for Good

While Park Eun Bin conveyed her message subtly, Rei from IVE and Wonhee from ILLIT represented a new wave of young stars who chose to speak openly and directly about the cause, proving that even the youngest voices can have the most powerful impact. Their actions highlighted an evolving role of idols and celebrities in modern campaigns: no longer just guests or faces for promotion, but active messengers who help shape public conversations around important social and health issues. Both Rei and Wonhee demonstrated that awareness is not about how loud or dramatic a gesture is, it is about sincerity, preparation, and using one’s platform with intention. And in a night where many seemed to overlook the main message, their voices rang the clearest.

In comments shared widely by fans, Rei revealed that she studied breast cancer before attending the event. She emphasized the importance of social awareness and expressed her hope for a world where people can speak openly about the pain they have experienced.

“I studied about it (breast cancer), y’know, since I was going to the event,” Rei said.

“I hope the world becomes a place where we can all share the pain we felt comfortably.”

Her simple yet powerful words received widespread praise, with many calling her an example of how an idol can use their platform to spread meaningful awareness. Rei showed that attending such an event is not just about red carpets and photos, it is also a chance to educate and connect with millions of fans on an important issue.

Wonhee from ILLIT also captured public attention as one of the few attendees who spoke directly about breast cancer on stage. In her remarks, she reminded the audience not to ignore even the smallest signs and to seek early check-ups. Despite her young age, her message turned out to be one of the most impactful of the evening.

“The youngest one had the most sense in the room,” one user on X commented.

“She’s so young and still did something that grown adults couldn’t do,” another added.

Wonhee’s presence highlighted how the new generation views social causes: they are not just stars but also messengers of meaningful change. The actions of Rei and Wonhee prove that awareness knows no age, and that the voices of young people can become a powerful force in spreading health education.

The pink carpet for the “Love Your W” event is always so beautiful and elegant :growing_heart: But Rei and Wonhee made it even more meaningful with their sincere words. They are as beautiful on the inside as they are on the outside! :sparkles:

I’m not surprised. Many of the other attendees probably just saw it as another glamorous party. It takes real character to actually remember and talk about the cause. Good for these three :+1::+1:
