From silence and struggle, they rise again,
GIRLSET rewrites the story with truth and flame,
Four voices stronger, unshaken by pain.

After months of internal turmoil, member departures, and a legal battle that stirred the fandom, the global girl group formerly under JYP Entertainment has officially turned the page. The name VCHA is now retired, and in its place, a bold new identity has emerged: GIRLSET. But behind this rebranding lies a story of emotional recovery—especially for former member KG Crown, whose departure marked a turning point for the group.

On August 5, 2025, VCHA was quietly removed from JYP Entertainment’s official artist list. Their social media accounts were deactivated, raising concerns and speculations among fans. However, for those who had followed the group’s struggles over the past year, the move felt like a long-expected conclusion.

KG Crown had previously announced her withdrawal from the group in December 2024, citing serious allegations about abuse and toxic work conditions under JYP USA. She claimed that one of the members had suffered a mental breakdown under pressure. These accusations were met with strong denial from the agency, calling them “one-sided and exaggerated.”

But on August 8, 2025 (KST), both sides reached a peaceful resolution. In an official statement, JYP America confirmed that they and KG Crown had amicably agreed to part ways. The mediation process, which took place in California, ended with no objections from either party, and KG officially dropped her lawsuit.

Instagram Story @kgcrown

“JYP America and KG Crown have mutually agreed to part ways as she concludes her journey with VCHA. Both parties sincerely wish each other all the best in their future endeavors. Thank you.”

The announcement was quickly met with a wave of support from fans on Instagram:

“SO HAPPY FOR YOU ANGEL❤️❤️”

“AWE I’M SO PROUD OF YOU KG! CONGRATULATIONS AND I WISH YOU THE BEST ON THIS NEW CHAPTER ON YOUR LIFE”

“Yaaayyy!! Congratulations KG! I’m so excited for your next chapter!❤️🫂 sending you so much love, support and strength ❤️”

In addition to KG, Kaylee also left the group. That left four remaining members—Lexi, Camila, Kendall, and Savannah—who would soon reintroduce themselves under a completely new name: GIRLSET.

GIRLSET Emerges: New Identity, Fresh Sound, and Debut with “Commas”

On August 7, 2025 (KST), JYP Entertainment dropped a teaser video and logo unveiling the group’s new name: GIRLSET. The rebranding marked not only a new chapter but a declaration of artistic growth, emotional maturity, and newfound independence.

In the teaser, the four members appeared dressed in sharp suits, exuding individuality while conveying layered emotions—from past wounds to present determination. The video ended with a poignant line: “We’re setting who we are,”—a powerful statement of self-definition and rebirth.

Fans immediately embraced the transformation, filling social media with excitement and support:

“it’s giving girls of the year mature version. hope they get more creative, cool and experimental soon.”

“their family still support them btw, SO WE CAN SAY THE GIRLS ARE SAFE NOW. let’s support girlset yall ❤️”

“I’VE BEEN THROUGH HER A2K ERA AND VCHA ERA, OBVIOUSLY I’M READY FOR GIRLSET 😭”

“This name is better than ‘Vcha’ tbh😭 proud to say I’ve been a fan since pre-debut 😼😼”

“you gave us one video and im alr imagining the first tour, the lightstick, the fan chants, the fan name, i CANT WAIT”

GIRLSET is also gearing up for their debut single, “Commas,” set to release on August 29, 2025, at 1PM KST. The track is produced by none other than Tommy Brown (known for working with Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, and The Weeknd) and Theron Thomas (a hitmaker behind songs for Rosé, Jungkook, and more).

In the concept photos, the girls appear in red and black leather outfits, standing against a crimson wall with fierce, confident expressions. The visuals signal a shift in energy—more mature, bold, and globally ambitious.

Now, GIRLSET represents more than just a name change. It’s a story of survival, healing, and reclamation. With renewed strength and authentic voices, Lexi, Camila, Kendall, and Savannah are ready not just to continue—but to transform into the artists they were always meant to be.

JYP really thought they could silence KG’s truth, huh? Glad she’s free now. GIRLSET’s concept looks fierce, but let’s see if they can last without the company’s usual ‘machine’ behind them

This story hit me hard  KG’s bravery to speak up about abuse… so glad she’s healing. And GIRLSET’s rebirth? ‘We’re setting who we are’ = CHILLS. Can’t wait to cry to Commas while folding laundry! :sob::heart:

@Linda_Turner I felt the exact same way! :sob: The way they turned their pain into art reminds me of those powerful drama character arcs where the heroine rises stronger after hardship. That ‘We’re setting who we are’ line? Pure cinematic storytelling!

It’s understandable you didn’t know, they’ve been focusing on the global market, so they’re not like the usual girl groups you’re familiar with. But now that you do, maybe you can support them too :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: they’re really talented!

And to JYP, I hope you stop suddenly deleting your artists’ accounts without any notice! That’s not wise—we were so worried and confused :face_with_steam_from_nose:
