He rose from quiet screens to claim the crown, Beating legends with just his charm and frown. Now hearts across Asia can’t calm down.

Rising actor Choo Young-woo is having a major moment. After starring in a string of hit projects throughout 2025, he’s now claimed the top spot in Korea’s July actor brand reputation rankings—beating out A-listers like Lee Jung-jae and Park Bo-gum. At the 4th Blue Dragon Series Awards, Choo Young-woo was honored with the Best New Actor award — a milestone that further cements his status as one of the brightest rising stars of the year. To top it all off, he just announced his very first Asia fan meeting tour, “Who (is) Choo?”, kicking off this September in Seoul.
According to the Korea Corporate Reputation Research Institute, Choo Young-woo ranked No. 1 in the July 2025 analysis, which measured the brand value of 100 actors active in K-dramas, films, and OTT content between June 22 and July 22. The rankings are based on four key indices: participation, media, communication, and community. Choo scored a total of 7,694,868 points, surpassing Lee Jung-jae (7,050,788) and Lee Byung-hun (6,578,206).
Other notable names in the Top 10 include Park Bo-gum, Jo Yu-ri, Park Bo-young, Cho Yi-hyun, Lee Jong-suk, Im Si-wan, and Park Gyu-young.
What makes this achievement even more impressive is that Choo only debuted in 2021. In just a few short years, he’s risen from rookie actor to one of the industry’s most buzzworthy names. In recent months alone, he’s starred in The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call, Mercy for None, Head Over Heels, and is currently appearing in the tvN drama The Fairy and the Cowherd, where he takes on dual lead roles and continues to earn praise for his evolving acting skills.
It’s no exaggeration to say 2025 is shaping up to be Choo Young-woo’s breakout year.
First Asia Fan Meeting Tour, “Who (is) Choo?” Begins in Seoul

On July 24, Choo Young-woo announced his first-ever Asia fan meeting tour via his official social media channels, sharing the Seoul poster for “CHOO YOUNG WOO ASIA FANMEETING TOUR ’Who (is) Choo?”.
The name cleverly plays off both his fandom name “Choo” and the phrase “Who is Choo Young-woo?”, inviting fans to discover more about the actor behind the screen. Starting in Seoul on September 6, the tour will also stop in Bangkok, Taipei, Osaka, and Tokyo. Full schedules and ticketing information will be released soon through his agency’s official channels.
As this marks the first time Choo will meet both Korean and international fans in person, anticipation is sky-high. It’s been reported that he’s deeply involved in the planning process himself, adding personal touches to each event as a way to thank fans for their continued support.
The tour promises to showcase Choo’s charm and personality in ways fans have never seen before—making it not just a meet-and-greet, but a heartfelt celebration of everything he’s built so far.
Fans Can’t Get Enough: “It’s Choo Young-woo Obsession Season!”
As Choo’s star rises, so does the buzz online. Social media is overflowing with fans expressing their love—and sometimes their delirium—for the actor.
Some users on X (formerly Twitter),
@bluewave_wish, wrote, “Life’s a mess, but seeing a handsome actor makes my day better 🙏🏻 Btw, Choo Yeong-woo always looks flawless in magazine covers (Singles, Dazed, Esquire, etc). His face is like perfectly carved—manly and exactly my type.”
@mowglle, joked, “He always has great chemistry with his co-stars… I feel like we’d be perfect together too 😩.”
@matchaaaboo kept it short and sweet: “It’s Choo Young-woo obsession season.”
From domestic fans to those overseas, Choo’s growing fanbase is proof of his irresistible presence. With his visuals, acting chops, and approachable vibe, he’s become a beloved figure across generations.
Whether it’s topping charts, starring in hit dramas, or connecting with fans across Asia, Choo Young-woo is making it clear—he’s not just a passing trend. He’s here to stay, and fans couldn’t be more thrilled.
